(More customer reviews)Tech4o's TraiLeader Pro watch gives you a lot of functions for the money. My favorite features are the HR monitor (%Max) display; the PC link; and the long-life battery. After a few weeks of workouts, I was able to 'tweak' my stride length so that the distance measurement was within +/- 3%...not bad! I will say that with all of the features and user screens, it take me almost a week to get comfortable with toggling between screens and setting up my favorite three functions on 1 layout. At 1/2 the price of a comparable GPS watch, you also get some nice features such as a digital compass, altimeter, barometer, and a thermometer! The Tech 4O TraiLeader Pro may look like a watch, but it works like the ultimate survival tool, packing everything you need to navigate the wildest of wild places within a compact, rugged case. The accuracy of the TraiLeader Pro derives from its accelerometer sensor, which detects changes in the user's movement (acceleration) and then translates them into varying degrees of electric current within the sensor. Next, the watch decodes these electrical currents into highly accurate measurements of speed and distance and displays them on the watch face. Accelerometer sensors are commonly found within a diverse range of industrial products in which accuracy is critical to performance, including automobile airbags and tilt meters.
The TraiLeader Pro does more than just track speed and distance, however, with sophisticated instruments that determine your pace, calories burned, steps, and exercise/moving time. Plus, the watch records a fully adjustable personal profile--helping you develop custom training routines--and offers an ultra-reliable 10-day memory function that tracks your progress in the short term.
The TraiLeader Pro is also equipped with a number of instruments for hiking and climbing, including an altimeter, barometer, and digital compass. The altimeter measures your current altitude, reference altitude, and ascent/descent rates, while offering such features as a 48-hour altitude graph, an altimeter lock, a 24-hour maximum and minimum altitude indicator, an altitude difference calculator, and altitude alarms. The barometer, meanwhile, gauges the current pressure and temperature, with a weather forecaster, 24-hour temperature readout, and 48-hour pressure graph thrown in for good measure. And the digital compass is a must for backcountry trips, with such features as a 1-degree increment resolution, an adjustable declination, a bearing lock, and a distortion warning.
Other details include 2.4 GHz heart rate measurement, a PC link that syncs up with your computer, a 50-lap chronograph, six timers, and dual time zones. Equipped with a comfortable watch band, the TraiLeader Pro carries a one-year warranty.
