(More customer reviews)I absolutely love these pedals. I've been mountain bike riding for years and I just got sick of the traditional clipless pedals that have to be adjusted on both sides of each pedal making for 4 total adjustments. Plus, the surface area on all of them is so small that you have nothing to step on when you can't get clicked in right away on a tough incline or tricky spot where you don't have the room to get going before you snap into your second pedal. I guess if you are a pro you can snap in every single time the first time you slam your foot down on the pedal, but I definitely can't.
With these pedals there are no adjustments and the tension is perfect the way it is. They are easy to get in and out of and they release when you really need them to, like right when you need to bail on a climb. I used to get stuck in my other pedals all the time and ended up falling over because I couldn't get out of them in time. These also look and feel like non-clipless pedals and have about the same surface area. If you can't get clipped in right away you can pedal with them just fine without being clipped in. I find myself doing this quite often with little difficulty.
Overall, the pedals seem well built and have proved very durable so far. They are also pretty light for being a full-sized pedal. I just wish I would have found these sooner and saved myself so much time, money and aggravation. You've gotta give these a try, you'll be glad you did.
UPDATE (4/2/2010):
After a couple hundred rough, tough and abusive miles on these bad boys they still work like a charm. I imagine the cleats will need replacing eventually as they show some wear, but this is normal. I am by no means a pro rider but I am still very hard on my bike and I attempt to ride the toughest terrain I can without killing myself. As mentioned previously, my biggest issue has always been having to bail on a really steep uphill climb and getting stuck in my pedals and then subsequently having to get back into my pedals in the middle of that very steep climb. of course, it's always easy to get one side clipped in, but the second one, not so much. These are definitely a lot easier than any other pedals I've tried, although they still require practice and I don't always clip in right away. The great thing is that I can still pedal OK without being clipped in fully...not great, but good enough to get going again until I manage to clip in.
