Cadillac AVP 2.1 Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)This bike is a great deal. I definitely recommend this bike if you can get it for under $300.
The AVP2.1M does have adjustable front and rear shocks, but they don't have any damping. The front suspension is Zoom Brand(HL corp / Shen Zheng), although I don't know which model. This suspension is better than what you will find on most hybrids.
I found a couple bubbles in the paint, but nothing serious. All the bubbles were in non-cosmetic places and I didn't bother fixing them.
The back cassette is equipped with a megadrive sprocket(one giant gear) for hill climbing. I can't get the megadrive gear to engage, but the bike is geared a bit low for me anyway so I haven't looked into it much.
The tires look like motorcycle tires and don't have a whole lot of grip. I've been running them at 45psi(they take 30-50psi) so lowering the pressure may help a little.
The disc brakes are just great, but both of my rotors were slightly warped out of the box, but you can bend them back.
The wheels weren't perfectly true out of the box, and my back tire had a loose spoke that made a 'sprang' noise when I went over it. This isn't much of a problem if you have a spoke tool. The rims look like they are pretty high quality.
The bike has some silly gages on the handlebar for telling you which gear you are in, I took them off.
The peddles have a rubberized grip, it works much better than I initially thought it would.
The bike is a very comfy ride, it has a nice seat and the shocks do their job well on pavement. The overall look of the bike is great.
If you don't know much about bikes it would probably be a good idea to get a bike shop to put it together for you. You will end up with a much better bike.
