It seems that this bench is adequate for someone who wants to save some money on a bench that has plenty of function or someone who will not lift a heavy amount of weight. Overall, it does its job and it is a decent looking bench.
The design is poorly engineered and it shows. There's not a whole lot of re-inforcement underneath the bench. In fact, the support basically consists a two-part metal frame held together by just two bolts - I'm guessing this is done to save on shipping/handling/packing costs. The back rest on the bench is also held together by two flimsy metal bars. Lastly, the holes in the seat padding were not drilled correctly! Only 3 of 4 bolts fit into it. I wasn't even able to force the last bolt in. It is not a surprise that the company that makes this product (Jamz Fitness) claims that this bench can only hold a total of 350 lbs on it (including the weight of the user). I can really imagine someone just crashing on this bench with bolts flying everywhere while lifting really heavy, which is a scary thought.
On the positive side, this bench has lots of functionality, which is the main reason why I purchased it. Positioning goes from decline to all the way up-right, with plenty of positions in-between. It's also useful that the bench comes with a leg curl attachment. The leg curl attachment can fit an olympic-sized weight with the included attachment or it can fit weights you typically find with dumbell sets with smaller holes. The padding isn't great on the leg curls, especially when using heavier weights, but it does the job. Also, there isn't much room left for your feet when curling, because a plate will be eating the space in front of them.
The price is good for a bench with so much functionality, but the weight limit is disappointing. If a 200 lb person is benching his/her own weight on this bench, then he/she has already surpassed the alloted weight limit. Also, the engineering is very poor. As many faults as this bench has, I still give it 3 stars for its positive features. I would recommend it for someone who is looking for an affordable multi-purpose bench, someone who isn't planning to lift a heavy load, or maybe someone looking for a second bench. I would not recommend it for someone who plans to lift heavy or plans to use this primarily for benching with a barbell. If you are looking for a main bench to purchase, I suggest calculating your weight and how much you are planning to lift and find out about the bench's weight limit. If you are planning to use this as a second bench or if you aren't planning to lift heavy, this bench is a pretty decent deal and can do a lot for you.
