IronMan ATIS 3500 AB Training Inversion Table Review

IronMan ATIS 3500 AB Training Inversion Table

If you've done your research on whether this treatment is right for you then the table is solid, well made, easy to use, good value. I recommend it.
Am I cured? 90%.
Did the table cure me? It played a part, as did a lot of exercise, massage, posture improvement, h-wave and adjustment.
By the way, for every opinion you will receive an equal and opposite one; for everyone who believes inversion tables are good, you will find one who believes they are not. It's frustrating.
I am a 41 year old amateur competitive cyclist and professional person who sits down a lot. Years of poor posture led to the onset of lower back pain and some sciatic nerve irritation. Enough to keep me off the bike. Late 2008 I was diagnosed with dessicated, bulging L4/L5 discs. I tried the doctor but there's not much they can do beyond symptom management without surgery. Physio but I wasn't impressed. Accupuncture alleviated symptoms temporarily. I was referred to a chiro who employed "non-sugical spinal decompression" techniques, h-wave stimulation, cold laser, conventional "cracking" adjustment, massage and physio.
After 3 months I am 90% better. Back on the bike. There is argument that the spinal decompression (machine or inversion table) only works when you are on it; there is no long term benefit. I don't know. The table provides relief and also provides a platform for core strengthening exercises; that is the key - improve posture and strengthen the core so that vertebrae are held in the correct position and discs are able to assume their correct position.
I use the table 5 mins daily; I am in no discomfort now but it allows me to do some of my core exercises. I also spend 30-60 mins on a mat doing other exercises; it's a serious undertaking but I abused my body for 41 years and I owe it a little TLC now.
It also helps to be very positive, to do things which you feel are helping. The body is a self-healing organism.
Good luck.

Whether you want to reduce back stress or fatigue, stimulate your blood circulation, or work your abs, the Ironman ATIS 3500 inversion table makes a great household accessory. The inversion table contributes to your body's overall health by optimizing lumbar traction, thereby relieving pressure on your vertebrae discs and ligaments. And when your back starts to relax, the rest of your body follows. The table can also help with such areas as increasing body flexibility for improved athletic performance, reducing the effects of aging due to gravity, and relieving lower backaches due to sitting or standing.
However, the ATIS 3500 differs from other inversion tables in a couple of crucial ways. First, by virtue of its ab and core training system, the table isolates the abdominals far more effectively than bench training, letting you build and strengthen your abs daily with just a few minutes of work. And second, the table offers 10 different inversion locking angles, letting you find the perfect position for your body type and symptoms.
The ATIS 3500 is outfitted with a durable oval tubing steel frame and a foam backrest with one-inch of memory foam. The backrest is tough yet durable and extends for comfortable head support. More importantly, the inversion system is a breeze to use: once you rest your body against the backrest and slip your feet into the ergonomically molded ankle cushions, simply reach your arms over your head. As your arms go up, your body gradually inverts to the preset angle. The only inputs are your energy and gravity itself.
Users will also appreciate the tough rubber non-skid floor stabilizers, which keep the table stable while you invert, and the extra-long safety handles, which provide an easy return to an upright position. Other details include a height-adjustable frame up to 6 feet 6 inches; support for up to 320 pounds; vinyl safety side covers to protect hands and fingers; a scratch-resistant powder-coated finish; inverted, foam-dipped hand grips that provide maximum stretching while inverted; and a side holder for cell phones, eyeglasses, wallets, coins, watches, and other small items.

Stamina 55-1539 Therapy Inversion System Review

This thing is wonderful from the moment you mount it and ease back to level and then to a slight downward incline. It balances your weight so you feel a sense of weightlessness. I felt the pressure on my groin ease up as I tilted back a little. I heard my back gently snap once. Something eased back into place or had some pressure relieved from it. It's very relaxing and soothing to just gently rock back and forth a little bit without even trying to go for full inversion. All the people on Amazon who said they wish they had gotten one of these years ago instead of making so many trips to the chiropractor were speaking utter truth!

The multiple-benefit Stamina 55-1539 therapy inversion system uses the samemethod that many hospitals and doctors use to reduce pressure on spinal discs, ligaments, and nerve roots while also increasing blood circulation, strengthening theback, and elongating the spine. Inversion therapy is natural and noninvasive, and helpscounteract the daily stress that contributes to a stiff back and neck.
The system is outfitted with a patented Pellicle mesh bed that conforms to the bodywhile facilitating air circulation, along with a pair of invert/return assist handlebars, which make it a breeze to invert to any angle and return to the starting position. The leg- lock system, meanwhile, holds the ankles securely without restricting them. Other detailsinclude an extended, easy-to-reach handle on the leg mechanism; curved, foam-paddedankle collars for added comfort and support; a chrome height-adjustment beam; anadjustable three-position footbar; and an attractive pewter-colored frame. The therapyinversion system, which folds into a compact footprint for storage, is backed by a five- year warranty on the frame and a 90-day warranty on all other parts.
About Inversion Tables Back pain is an uncomfortable and cumbersome ailment for millions of people. It can strike repeatedly and without warning, nearly paralyzing its victims with pain and discomfort. Inversion therapy is an excellent way to prevent and treat chronic or recurring back pain. This form of therapy treats back pain by hanging a person upside-down by their ankles. The only problem with this therapy is a risk of spinal injury because of the procedure's lack of support. Fortunately, inversion tables remove this risk. A person can lie on an inversion table, and then gradually turn themselves upside down, always fully supported by their ankles. With precise balance, simple arm movements control the rotation of the inversion table. Special tether straps or locking hinges allows users to stop a rotation at just the right angle in order to stretch a specific place in their back.
This technique has proven effective for relieving spine compression, elongating the spine, and reversing minor spinal dislocations. Of course, this treatment is not for everyone. People with glaucoma, very high blood pressure, bone disorders or a history of severe spinal injury or surgery should be careful and check with a physician before administering inversion therapy. However, with a bit of practice and an breath of caution, inversion tables can be your ticket to a pain-free and healthier back.

Stamina Seated Inversion Core Training System Review

Stamina Seated Inversion Core Training System
Average Reviews:

I have been obsessed with finding the right inversion therapy device for my back and neck pain. I finally centered on this one for many reasons after researching for 3 months.
What it does and how it works is amazing. No pull on your ankles, legs and hips like a table. For me and most people I know, they just need their spine stretched not their entire body. So since your knees are bent and it's holding you by the lap belt, it gives a MUCH better spinal stretch and pull than any table can.
HORRIBLE QUALITY CONTROL THOUGH
The box was not sturdy enough to ship something this big and heavy. But I don't think any of the problems were direct shipping damage.
There's a tear in the seat. Part of the break mechanism was missing so I can't even use the break. May be dangerous to use it without it, but I'm using it anyway. One of the threads was stripped so one of the screws that holds the back support wouldn't go in. I just got it yesterday and already the adjustable ankle pad is stuck all the way in and won't release. So I can't get my feet in and it hurts cuz it's too tight. Multiple scratches and blemishes in numerous places. I wondered at 1st if it was used, but I think it was just a lot of scratched up parts that were used and very poor quality workmanship. I was a little afraid to try it, in case it fell apart. But structurally it feels pretty sturdy.
BEAR TO ASSEMBLE - BEAR TO RETURN
This thing is a bear to put together. I had to pay someone to do it for me and it took over 2 hours. So it will be too much trouble to pack up and return it. Besides that the box was in too bad a shape to re-use and basically feel apart after opening. ALSO too much cost to pay someone to assemble another one. (My eyes glazed over just trying to read the directions and I have an Internet Marketing company and work 7 days a week, so just paid someone to do it for me.) It's Sunday so I can't call Stamina or Amazon to find out what can be done.
I DON'T DO REVIEWS
I buy a TON of products on Amazon and never do reviews. The only reason I wrote this one is because 1)It feels incredibly good on my back and I would have rated that part a 5. 2) It sure is crappy workmanship so be forewarned. I would have rated that part a 1. Hence the overall 3 rating.

Featuring a curved backrest that extents the back slightly, this device provides inversion therapy with less stress on the ankles, knees, and hips than does a flat-backrest inversion table. It's designed for people whose doctors recommend inversion therapy to reduce pressure on spinal discs, ligaments, and nerve roots while increasing blood circulation, strengthening the back, and elongating the spine. (Note: The manufacturer warns that inversion therapy is not safe for everyone and should not be undertaken without consulting a doctor.) Curved, foam-padded handlebars make it easy to assume any of six inversions positions. Foam-padded ankle collars ensure comfort and support while inverted. For easy, safe mounting and dismounting, there's a hand brake that holds the chair in place. Skid-resistant rubber floor protectors maximize stability during mounting, dismounting, and inverting.
The chair accommodates users of most heights. The device's frame is heavy-duty steel, and vinyl-covered upholstery is cushioned for comfort. Assembled (instructions included), the device measures 62 inches deep x 35 inches wide x 56 inches high and weighs 72 pounds. The frame carries a five-year warranty against defects, with parts warranted against defects for 90 days.

Rowbike 720 Sport Review

Rowbike 720 Sport
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Where to start...I'm 6'5" was 275 lbs and purchased a 726 King from Rowbike. Assembling the bike was no problem but I can follow instructions and mechanically minded. A cable adjuster was missing so I robbed one from an old motorcycle in the garage. Took about 20 minutes to feel comfortable riding it. The best advice is to be aware of how you move the handle bars...since you pull and steer with the handle bar, you must use equal pressure pulling back. Pull harder on one side and that's the direction your going. The website video's do a good job with learning to ride this machine.
This is a "workout" machine it will get you in shape and although I did not loose much weight, my waist got smaller. I would regularly ride 10 miles on a daily basis and averaged 10 mph. What's interesting about a Rowbike as oppose to a rowing machine, is feeling your muscles engage as you maintain balance. The outdoor aspect is a great plus for your workout. Overall quality of the structure is very good and explains the lifetime warranty for the Frame, Power Lever, and Fork. Where this machine falls short is the components i.e. rear gears, wheels, drive train, shifter, steering cabling.
The BAD. My machine came with a friction shifter the current machine comes with a Micro Shifter. For the uninitiated this sounds impressive but in reality its not. The gear set is lowest cost units available and can be found on the cheapest Chinese made bikes. Also my bike mechanic questioned the use of a derailleur (the device used to shift gears) because every power stroke pulls the derailleur forward, accelerating the wear on the spring. In addition the bearings used to support and slide the seat are made of plastic (required to reduce friction) and crack. Be prepared to purchase spares. As for the wheels, they are also bottom self units. The forward propulsion of this machine puts a LOT of torque on the rear wheel, the evidence for this is abnormal wear on one side of the rear tire. After breaking 3 spokes I upgraded the rear wheel from a 32 spoke aluminum to 36 spoke steel Rino Lite rim. No more broken spokes or warped wheel. Experienced 6 flats before I figured out the rubber ban used between the rim & the tube was over sized. Switched to rim tape & no more flats.
As relayed earlier I had a friction shifter and when I replaced the rear wheel I explored new gearing and shifter. Again I upgraded to a Shimano Delore 9 speed cassette with a Delore shifter. Although the overall gearing did not change, having the two additional gears smoothed the overall ride ability of the Rowbike. If you fall over while on this bike the seat will shear off its mounting brackets. If you ride over bumps you could (I did) bounce off the seat. Also be advised, in the low gear, the chain will rub the tire. And finally this bike requires constant minor maintenance. In comparing this to a regular bike, you must continually tighten the steering hub and make sure the cable adjustments are correct...pull on the power lever and have the handlebars swing hard into you, will flip you off the machine.
The GOOD. Customer support is the best. When you get a call from the owner of the company to check up on issues, its impressive. The seat was replaced with a more robust model, additional bearings were included. The D cam was replaced and they were ready to replace the power lever if I could not work out the D cam upgrade (stripped bolt threads)
SO IS A ROWBIKE worth the money. That depends...as its currently built the answer would be no. I spent an additional 300 dollars to get it to an acceptable mechanical level. 1500 dollars for a specialized exercise machine is tough to justify. Local bike shops are reluctant to work on it so good mechanical skills are needed to maintain it. The power train needs improvement and I've suggested a NuVinci CVT transmission as the answer to keeping the chain in a straight line (no wheel rubbing), with the additional benefit of a better gear ratio to help get the machine over hills. A wider and shaped handlebar would expand the upper body muscles employed. Better wheels to handle the torque. For the money spent you can purchase a mid level regular bike that is more useful and can achieve your exercise goals.

Ironman IFT 4000 Infrared Therapy Inversion Table Review

Ironman IFT 4000 Infrared Therapy Inversion Table
Average Reviews:

Love, love, love this inversion table! Best feature is the heated pad. This model heats up all over the pad -- not in one or two small areas like other models. Worth the extra cost! The heat relaxes the back even more, and feels soooo good!
This unit is very sturdy. We were impressed with the quality of the parts.
Assembly was actually much easier than it looked from glancing at the instructions. They're very detailed -- a good thing -- so it makes it look like there are a gazillion small parts to figure out. But there were just a few steps, and the instructions and pictures were excellent. We got it put together in about 30 minutes -- him with the screwdriver, and me basically watching him.
Haven't figured out yet how to fold it up flat for storage. Might need to flip the back upside down? Or maybe pop the footrest off? Oh well -- minor inconvenience, compared to how thrilled we are with this thing.
Oh! One more thing -- yes, hanging upside down by your feet does hurt the ankles. Not so bad if you keep your feet flexed, but that also keeps almost the entire leg tense and the goal is to relax. I tried putting on my Ugg boots, and that extra cushioning made it much more comfortable. Still feel pulling on the ankles, but not the cuffs digging into the foot.

Whether you want to reduce back stress or fatigue or increase your blood circulation, the Ironman IFT 4000 infrared therapy inversion table makes a great household addition.
The IFT 4000 combines traditional inversion with Far Infrared Therapy (FIR), an advanced heat technology that provides a number of health and therapeutic benefits. FIR tables boast built-in, ultra-thin carbon fiber heating elements that produce a natural and gentle heat, thereby soothing your back and providing temporary relief from minor muscle pains. To enjoy the maximum benefits from the table, simply rest your body against the ribbed foam backrest, slip your feet into the ergonomically molded ankle cushions, and reach your arms over your head. As your arms go up, your body gradually inverts up to a full 180 degrees. Once you're inverted, you can easily change the temperature via the remote control (the backrest heats up to a maximum 140 degrees F), with an easy-to-read LED display indicating the temperature setting. By combining heat and inversion therapy, the IFT 4000 increases blood circulation even better than traditional inversion tables, boosting your body energy while reducing your stress levels. Heat therapy can also help heal sprains and strains quicker by relaxing the muscles.
To maximize the therapeutic benefits, the IFT 4000 offers three different starting adjustment angles, with inverting handgrips that allow you to stretch and position the body while inverting. Users will also appreciate the tough rubber non-skid floor stabilizers, which keep the table stable while you invert, and the extra-long safety handles, which provide an easy return to an upright position. Other details include an easy-to-reach, palm-activated ratchet ankle locking system; vinyl safety covers with a mesh pocket for the remote control and smaller items; and support for up to 350 pounds. Designed to fold up for easy storage, the table accommodates users who stand between 4 feet 9 inches and 6 feet 6 inches.

Stamina Seated Inversion Review

After severe back pain almost incapacitated me and I had constant numbness and twitching in my leg muscles, my chiropractor had me get an MRI, which showed degenerative disc disease - 2 torn, bulging discs (mild stenosis of spinal cord and other minor issues). My doctor said I would need surgery if my leg muscles began to lose strength, and both he and my chiropractor suggested that I try inversion therapy and/or traction/VAX-D to attempt to avoid surgery. Having found that traction/VAX-D could cost me several thousand USD since it is not covered by insurance (even though unofficial evidence suggests it really helps), I opted to try out inversion therapy first. I bought the Stamina seated inversion table because other Stamina products have good reviews and I liked the seat feature (for ease of mounting and dismounting). I agree with other reviews that say that Stamina does not package their products very well (items were too loose in the box and washers were missing because of a hole in the single-layered hardware bag), but the product itself is good quality and solid when assembled. The limiter strap had been wrongly mounted, but it was easy enough to correct that.
The seat feature makes the table very easy to get on and off. Since you hang at 50-60 degrees by your feet, it is a little hard on the ankles at first (I recommend wearing shoes and pulling your pant legs down around your ankles) but, once you get used to it, it can be very relaxing (don't fall asleep!). I usually play Klondike on my iPod during the 10 minute sessions morning and evening. Maybe after a week of using this table I started to notice that my numbness and twitching had vastly reduced and my back pain was not noticeable most of the time. I am sure this table has helped me. I don't have any scientific proof to support this and it may just be coincidence, but even the psychological effect of doing something positive to help yourself is priceless in my mind. I definitely recommend this table to anyone in a similar situation to me. Well worth the money!

Ironman ATIS 4000 Inversion Table Review

Ironman ATIS 4000 Inversion Table
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
*Update to review at bottom*
Let me start by saying that this is a product review, not a review of inversion therapy. I'm disappointed so many people gave inversion tables 5 stars when they were rating inversion therapy rather than the inversion table. I would advise anyone to read these reviews carefully. I would rate inversion therapy as a 5 - do it yourself traction is great for your back. It can help older people with compressed disks to find pain relief and help younger people from developing such problems as quickly. For more advanced degenerative spinal disease you should definitely seek medical advice before purchasing such a system.
OK that said, I just received an Ironman ATIS 4000 Inversion Table and put it together last night, which took about an hour and a half. It would have taken less time if I didn't have two little helpers constantly in my way. The only part missing was a metal washer, which (being a guy) only took a trip to the garage to address. Still, it's very disappointing when assembly hardware is missing. Assembly instructions were clear, all tools were included and it was easy to assemble, but there are no usage instructions. I hung upside down (180 degree inversion) after assembly like you're not supposed to do, had the blood rush to my head, got immediately congested, and had a subluxated vertebra in my lower back slowly and painfully slide itself into proper spinal alignment. Ah, I haven't felt this good in weeks! The table is very heavy duty, and I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the back board. It is of the minimum base quality I would expect to see in a gym - not the highest quality, but still very solid and able to last a lifetime of home use.
There are a number of problems, however. First, The Amazon ad for this model states the product includes "a removable lumbar support pillow for additional lower back support" - there is no such lumbar support - the sloppy description is incorrect. Not a huge issue, but I disdain false advertising. Second, when fully inverted and hanging completely by the ankles, your feet/ankles will be uncomfortable. The very well-padded ankle straps are not completely pain-free, as the moulding-line cuts into the top of your feet. Given the pain in my back, a little momentary discomfort in the ankles is a very small price to pay, but if you're considering purchasing an inversion table know it exists if you're not pain tolerant (probably regardless of brand/model). Third, and most importantly, the table does not lock. It is advertised as having "10 different inversion locking angles", but the locking mechanism is cheap, it sticks, works sometimes and not others, and I refuse to ever use it again. Ironman, whoever designed your locking system should be fired. I locked myself in at about 160 degrees from vertical and then the mechanism stuck. If I freed my feet I would slide off the table, head hitting the metal stand. Fortunately after much jiggling I got the mechanism unstuck. I am certainly not an expert on inversion traction but I would think being stuck inverted for a long span of time could be potentially dangerous. This completely undermines the units ability to be used for inverted sit-ups where locking is a necessity. You can only use it to hang upside down on, and have to haul yourself up by the handles (weight shifts when you hang by your ankles and your weight is no longer balanced, but shifts towards your head). Note that some of the other Ironman inversion tables have this same faulty locking mechanism design - and this is supposed to be their best design!
This table comes under the category of great idea, very well made otherwise, but a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link and the "Smart Gear System" is a complete piece of garbage. I'm going to look at the locking mechanism more this evening; if it is not something I can fix myself, I will return the unit. This is one reason I buy from Amazon - they pay for return shipping when they sell faulty equipment like the Ironman ATIS 4000 Inversion Table. If I spend $300 on a piece of equipment and it is not what is advertised and arrives broken, I should not have to pay to return junk.
**UPDATE**
I have decided to keep the table. The locking mechanism is completely broken, but it's in the unlocked state, so I can invert without any issue. I am unable to do inverted sit-ups, but oh well. It is not worth my time & effort to disassemble and repack this monstrosity for shipment. It does work well for inversion therapy, which is the main reason I purchased it. So yes, I'm keeping it, but if I knew this is what I would get for $300 I would have bought from another more reputable manufacturer.
I strongly advise looking for a better manufacturer than Ironman. I noticed on negative reviews, there is always one "not helpful" vote on the review - from the seller or manufacturer of the item, who is notified of any reviews of their products. Regardless of your final purchasing decision, no one could honestly consider this review not helpful in making a decision as to whether or not to purchase this item. I challenge anyone who feels this review is not helpful to COMMENT ON IT and specify what information is inaccurate or lacking, and I will gladly correct that oversight. The only thing unhelpful about this review is that it's unhelpful to Ironman in gaining additional sales of an inferior product. Sorry, Ironman, people will still read this regardless of your ploy to bury the comment.
**2ND UPDATE**
Inverted sit-ups without the lock are possible, but you do experience some swing as your center of gravity shifts relative to the unlocked table's pivot point. Inverted crunches do not have as much sway. You have to go slow, but it's achievable.
**3RD UPDATE**
This unit is now sitting in my garage. Wish I would have put the money towards a camera lens instead.

Nubax Trio Back Pain Reliever Review

Nubax Trio Back Pain Reliever
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had back pain in the past, and even surgery for 2 heriatied disks in my lower back about 8 years ago (with a VERY positive outcome), and I'm only 48. Sciatica pain, but not from an injury. Then this holiday, I started in with the horrible sciatica pain and tingling in my leg and got scared. I can't do surgery again (but it was the only thing that helped).
So I started looking for something to help. I researched opinions on Amazon for the Back2life product and found a link to[....] to their review, and what they recommended, and that's where I found out about the Nubax product. I viewed some videos on YouTube and purchased it right away.
The packing of the product in the box is FANTANSTIC, and believe me, this is important. I purchases many items via mail order, and lots of things come poorly packed and damaged. You don't want to spend $300 on a product to have it show up damaged.
The assembly of the product is extremely simple, and it actually took more time to take the parts out of the box and remove the protective packing than it took to put it together.
The quality of the product is exceptional, considering the price and that it's made in China. It really is strong and well made.
It comes with an instruction book and a cd. It is very easy to use, and I feel relief right away. I can really feel the stretch in my spine from hip area to the mid shoulder area. I've never experienced anything like this.
I tried inversion tables, but I get motion sick when I hang upside down, so it doesn't work for me. And I can't afford the cost of going through multiple back traction therapies.
Thank you for bringing this product to the US!

Fitness Plus Total Back Care System Review

Fitness Plus Total Back Care System
Average Reviews:

I tried a system like this at the chiropractor. He had a different name brand. THAT one turned you upside down untill your thighs were parallel to the floor. THIS one turns you a bit farther, forcing you to hold yourself from falling on your head with your legs. It's almost impossible to relax your back and allow your spine to be stretched when you are tightening your legs! There is no way to adjust this either. Everything else is ajustable except the most important bit. I'm disappointed because that is what I bought the system for.
On the plus side it is great for strengthening your back and stomach (standing sit-ups) but for the money you pay for it, you should be able to do both. If only the thing turned you until your thighs were parallel, then you could relax completely and let your spine STRETCH. Extra pillows don't help...
DO NOT buy if you wish to stretch your back.

Teeter Hang Ups EP-550 Sport Inversion Therapy Table Review

Teeter Hang Ups EP-550 Sport Inversion Therapy Table
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Why I chose EP-550 Sport:
Purchased this item on Oct.6,08. Chose this model, because of a positive reputation and the easy storage function, though it was a bit more expensive than other brands. In addition, this model is supposed to have a very comfortable ankle clasp. Sport version even includes the gravity boots. So, I decided to purchase EP-550 Sport instead of regular EP-550.
The First Day:
The assembly is not hard, but the whole package is quite ponderous. Once assembled, the inversion table needs some practice, adjusting the height and weight distribution, when one first uses it. This will take a while to get used to it. Unlike some other models, this table uses a seesaw mechanism, which means there is no locking into 30, 60 or 90 degree angle. The whole movement depends on balancing weight between one's head vs. his feet by swaying his arm either toward his head or toward his knee, once the balance has been established. Make sure to view the DVD that comes with the kit.
Pros:
Gravity boots are quite helpful, and I love how I can oscillate.
Cons:
Cam Locks arrived completely broken on both sides. When I called the customer service, they knew exactly what was broken, even before I mention the specific location. Obviously, there is a proven packaging problem.
If you are less than 100 lb, you might have a difficult time going into full inversion, since there is a lot of weight at the bottom. Using the gravity boots helps a bit.
Because the table is bottom heavy, it does not fold like a video. I find that, even when I shorten the table to the maximum storage mode, the table still sways into the horizontal angle, which makes it difficult to store without scratching the wall.
Traction handle is a rip off. Personally, I do not find them useful at all. Besides, they are supposed to be worth $30?!
Conclusion:
I recommend buying the regular EP-550 and the gravity boots kit separately and save money for Traction handle. If you really want to try the traction handle, just buy them separately. Buying EP-550 Sport model does not give you any discount for buying the whole package. EP-550 Sport should be around $350, when EP-550 is $299.

Teeter Hang Ups Dex II Decompression and Extension Machine Review

Teeter Hang Ups Dex II Decompression and Extension Machine
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had actually intended on getting a Roman chair to do back extensions, but Amazon's great price ($175) on this dual capability machine convinced me to give it a shot and also add the capability of inversion. As for the machine itself, it's quite heavy-duty, but very easy to assemble. Make sure you have the floor space available as it does not collapse after assembly. As for user weight limitations, in my judgment it will easily support even the extremely large individual.
The unique design for inversion takes all the stress off the knees and ankles as the weight is supported primarily on the upper thighs, anchored by pads behind the calves. These pads are adjustable vertically, but not horizontally. So, if you have short legs, you will not be able to hold the legs in a 90 degrees angle as you hang upside down ( the lower legs will be somewhat extended behind the pads.) This may be an issue if you intend to invert for extended periods. I have not found it a problem for my ~ 10-min inversions.
Individual machines typically costing $200 or more apiece would obviously do a better job at both back extensions and inversion; however, at $175, this versatile machine is well worth the money. Also, highly recommended for larger users who want the benefits of inversion but cannot take stress on the knees and ankles.

Perform a variety of body-stretching and strengthening exercises in the comfort of your living room with the Teeter Dex II forward-rotating inversion machine. The machine, which offers a sturdy lap support and adjustable leg supports, puts your body in a fixed 90/90-degree position that helps flatten the lumbar curve and separate the vertebrae. Once in position, users can perform a host of inverted stretches and exercises, from back extensions to spine stretches. The traction handles, meanwhile, help you stretch your lower back in a whole new way, with the ability to increase the decompression of your spine for even better results. And as a bonus, most of the traction is applied to your hip joints and spine rather than the ankles and knee joints, thereby relieving pressure on your most vulnerable areas.
Construction details include a sturdy, square steel tube design, a durable powder-coated finish that resists scratches, and a washable, padded vinyl mat. And thanks to the corner feet, the Dex II is remarkably stable even on slippery floors. The Dex II fits users who stand between 4 foot 8 inches and 6 foot 6 inches and weigh up to 300 pounds. The unit itself measures 28 by 58 by 45 inches (W x H x D), weighs 66 pounds, and is backed by a five-year warranty.

Health Mark IVO18660 Pro Inversion Therapy Table Review

When I looked at these my back was killing me (pinched nerve) and the last thing I wanted was one that weighed 80lbs. This one was lighter than the others I looked at so I decided to try it and hope it was not too flimsy. It was perfect.
The pipes that hold it up are about 1 and 1/4 in diameter, made out of strong metal and don't appear likely to bend. The instructions were terrible and tell you to put the handles on backwards. Use the Amazon picture as a guide. The nylon covers that protect you from being pinched are also rather mysterious as they have long straps that would seem to have some function but don't. Other than that the unit works well and adjusts to different heights.
Be sure to adjust it to your height because if you don't, the unit won't come out of the upside down position as easily. Normally all you have to do is place your arms at your side to be in reach of the handles and able to right yourself. After using the unit for a week my back is 100% better.
For those of you who are thinking of using this for ab work, it does not work for that. Trying to bend causes the unit (as it is supposed to) to bring your feet back down.
After being in pain for over a month I HIGHLY recommend it for back issues. Be aware that you may have some muscle pain at first, especially if your issues stemmed from carrying heavy loads on one side of your body. Since the muscles are contracting unevenly, stretching them out can cause some mild discomfort. This is worth it when compared to the relief it gives. It stopped the pain my back after only a few minutes.
UPDATE: This did wonders for my back in a very short time, but I want to add that it DOES NOT fold up very well. It is extremely bulky and hard to store. Also the rubber tips come off of the legs if you try to stand it up after you fold it. This can put some nasty scratches on your floor if you aren't careful.

Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 Inversion Therapy Table Review

Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 Inversion Therapy Table

I have chronic upper back pain and a pinching the nerves in my spine that affect hands and forearms. Once, I had a 2 week spell with sciatica and couldn't walk from lower back. They have never bothered me at the same time. Upper back is my usual problem.
Normally, I toss and turned all night with numbness and arthritic pain in hands and forearms. I searched to see if this Teeter Table has helped anyone with upper back problems as most of the praise was about relief of lower back pain. My search only found another person with the same question and no answer.
This thing is great. I now have hope. It has helped relief dragging pain and discomfort I have come to know as an all-the-time thing. I thought it might help a little but not this much. WOW! The first night after using it, I slept so deep and my pain and numbness was much relieved. I slept through the night til 5:10 instead of the usual, up every two hours. Still, I developed the pain (pretty strong) by the end of the work day. I went home used it to relax and teeter on. What a great stress reliever it is. I also inverted all the way back this time for a few seconds. Really pulls the weight of your head off the spinal column. I spent a lot of time on it just inverting minimally while my daughter told me about her day. (She loves it too to relieve back ache and stress).
Then I slept well all night with minimal numbness and pain with deeper sleep. Only woke up once in the middle of the night.
2nd night: Slept great, pain much less than day before, and a great day at work with no pain WOW! I just wanted to make sure I told you how great it is because my inclination (no pun intended) would be to invert my happy self off into the sunset. Good night! Buy it it's well worth the money! Oh one more thing. Do watch the dvd on assembling it. That will save you a lot of time putting it together. My daughter and I did it in a reasonable amount of time. It is well made and you feel secure with how well it is put together. Happy inverting! I will try to update if any changes develop.

Whether you want to improve your posture, reduce back pain, or simply minimize your daily stress load, the Teeter Hang Ups EP-950 inversion therapy table makes a terrific choice. Inversion therapy works by placing your body in line with the downward force of gravity. In the process, inversion elongates the spine, increases the space between the vertebrae, and relieves the pressure on discs, ligaments, and nerve roots. And less pressure means less back pain, as well as fewer headaches and neck problems. Inversion is ideal for people with persistent spine and muscle aches, in addition to athletes who frequently push their bodies out of whack through repetitive muscle motions, such as runners, weightlifters, skiers, cyclists, and golfers. Studies suggest that inverting yourself a mere 25 degrees for even a few minutes per day can have tremendous positive effects.
Never before has an inversion table worked with your body the way an EP series inversion table does. The EP-950--Teeter's top-of-the-line EP inversion table--uses Teeter's patented Flex Technology design to move as you move. By working with your body instead of against it, the table accommodates a greater range of motion than other tables, promoting realignment of the spine and relaxing your muscles. The EP-950 then adds an optimal surface for decompression, with a smooth, light-friction texture that allows the body to slide and achieve a premium stretch. Plus, engineering tests have shown that Teeter inversion tables are the most precisely balanced tables on the market. This allows users to control the lockout more confidently in full inversion.
In addition to its EP-standard features, the EP-950 offers a number of upgrades over other Teeter EP tables. The table's ratchet ankle lock system, for instance, offers an easy-to-reach solution in addition to a triple-lock security feature. The table also includes EZ Stretch handles to help increase traction and enhance your stretching experience. To make your inversion more efficient, the table's EZ Angle tether strap lets you preset your rotation angles at 20, 40, or 60 degrees. This provides an easy guide to where the benefits of inversion begin and are fully realized. Finally, the table includes a new Ankle Comfort Dial that adjusts for smaller or larger feet, allowing you to find a comfortable and secure fit for your ankle clamps.
Other details include a robust base with A-frame tubing and corner feet; auto-locking hinges, cam locks, and heat-treated steel parts; a de-rattler knob and specialized pivot bearings that ensure a lifetime of squeak- and rattle-free rotation; a scratch-resistant powder coating and a triple-plated chrome finish; and a plastic injection-molded construction with easy-to-clean surfaces. The table also comes with an Advanced Secrets to a Better Back instructional DVD that includes five 10-to-15-minute exercise and stretching classes. The DVD is hosted by Dr. Shawn, and includes such workouts as Good Morning (wakeup and warm up your spine); Strength & Stretch (build your core muscles); Posture Correction (look better and function better); Gym Ball (specialized core-building class), and Inversion Table (to receive the maximum benefits from your inversion table). The only inversion table on the market that can be modified with accessories, the EP-950 folds in just a few seconds to 28 by 66 by 16 inches (W x H x D) for easy storage.
Specifications:
Height capacity: 4 foot 8 inches to 6 foot 6 inches
Weight capacity: 300 pounds
Assembled dimensions: 48 by 61 by 27 inches (W x H x D)
Weight: 74 pounds
Warranty: 5 years

I was somewhat skeptical when I ordered this board whether it would help my back or not. I am periodically bothered by back problems that are either sciatica or something closely resembling it. When it hits it has always taken at least six weeks of physical inactivity and stretching to relieve the pain, and the ache would linger for months. When I felt the latest bout of this condition begin, I ordered this board. I can truthfully say that after using the board for one week, five minutes a day, the pain and any sign of the condition had disappeared. I live alone so I do not fully invert, but the last setting using the safety harness was enough to provide me relief. I only use it two or three times a week now, but have not had a recurrence of the back problem in the four months since buying the board. The one time relief was enough to justify buying the board, and any future aid in relieving or preventing the sciatica will be gravy for me. I am beginning to believe that periodic use may hopefully prevent the condition from coming back. I bought the Teeter board because I am 64 years old and weigh 250 lbs. I feel very secure on this board and if I had someone around when I was using it I would have no hesitation in going fully inverted. The sensation when you first use the board takes some getting used to, but once you develop trust in the board that feeling goes away.

I saw this model in a catalogue and googles it up. I wanted it the minute I found out about it, and called the local store to see if I could get it that day. Unfortunately, the employees had never heard of it, so I decided to get it site to store. It arrived that week, took just over 2 hours for us to assemble it, but that was watching tv at the same time. The instruction manual could use an upgrade on the schematics, but otherwise everything was easily understandable and easy to assemble.
Here is what it has over the other types. The base is rock solid. There was no need for any assistance to get into or out of the device. It only goes 65 degrees, but that was a real selling point for me. I have high blood pressure, ocassionaly, and not going 90 degrees is less stress on my cranium. Starting and ending in a siting position is also a consideration for me at my age. I noticed the difference in my neck immediately. The lower back is adjusting gradually, but it's been a problem for years, so I wasn't expecting a quick fix there. I would reccomend this product to anyone wanting to decompress the stress on their lumbar area. I also read some reviews that stated it's great for abs.
The footprint is approximately 3 square feet. It does not fold up for storage.

If ever I bought a product that should come with instructions, this is it. I have been unable to use this swing because it came with no instructions! I called the company the day it arrived, several weeks ago to ask for instructions or whether there is some dvd or something I have to buy separately and no one has called me back. What a frustrating waste of money and time. Now I have to go back online and try to figure out if they have some dvd I need to buy in addition to this swing. If that was the case, they should have made that clear on the site. Stupid waste of my money, time and energy.

High quality, nice design, good customer service (a piece damaged in shipment was replaced with no hassle). Compared to my old American Sports back swing, on which the nylon finally gave out after 25 years, this is higher quality everywhere, and the curved handles are a handy feature for pulling yourself back to upright position in case you're not balanced perfectly. The only downside is that assembly is not easy or obvious, and the instructions are incomplete and poorly written.

Special tether straps or locking hinges allow users to stop a rotation at just the right angle in order to stretch a specific place in their back. This technique has proven effective for relieving spine compression, elongating the spine, and reversing minor spinal dislocations. Of course, this treatment is not for everyone. People with glaucoma, very high blood pressure, bone disorders, or a history of severe spinal injury or surgery should be careful and check with a physician before administering inversion therapy. However, with a bit of practice and caution, inversion tables can be your ticket to a pain-free and healthier back.
