Champion Chin and Dip Station Gym Equipment Review

Champion Chin and Dip Station Gym Equipment
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Let me start by saying that this Champion Chin/Dip Station is an excellent piece of equipment. It is well built and quite stout, weighing in at 155 lbs. Since I am 6'6" and 240 lbs, I ordered it primarily because of its 92 inch height and rugged construction. I really hate doing pullups on a rickety, short chin rack, with my knees only inches off of the ground. It more than handles me and any additional weight that I choose to hang or dip with. Leg lifts (abdominals) are also easily accomplished using straps while hanging from the chin bar. I'm very satisified with this solid equipment.
I agree with the other reviewers, the price plus shipping quoted by this vendor is outrageous. I shopped around for this item online and purchased it for a great price with free shipping (Mansion Athletics).

NOT BAD
=========
First off, I'm pretty happy with it, but will try to write another review after 6 months, if Amazon allows that.
MISSING SCREWS
===========
The package was missing all of the M6 x 80mm Button Screws which are mentioned in the manual.
There's a cardboard sheet, covered by plastic which is supposed to contain all of the screws and bolts necessary to put the 390 together. All of the tools on the sheet, are clearly marked. But the 80mm screws aren't there at all - i.e., they are not only missing; there is not even any labeled place for it. The M6 x 80mm screws were completely forgotten when the factory put this together.
Anyway, I contacted Customer Care, using the number in the manual. First day I called the toll-free number, it was impossible to reach anyone. But the second day, it went smoothly. They took down the information, and I received the 80mm screws within a week.ASSEMBLY
==========
Regarding assembly itself, the manual was clear enough. They manual recommends two people, but it took only me, and I'm about average when it comes to assembling these things. It took a few days, moving very slowly, but it could clearly be done in an evening.THE WEIDER 390 POWER TOWER
=============================
The equipment itself seems to operate as expected. The knee pad plate seems unnecessary, so it was removed. You could just as easily use a chair, and bend your knees loosely. That seems to accomplish the same thing.
My purpose for purchasing the 390 was for the pull-ups. My doors can't handle the weight of those pull-up bars which are sold everywhere, so the 390 seemed like a good substitute. A secondary reason was the dips.
Considering that there are no weights on this machine, the whole thing is surprisingly heavy. Nothing that a grown person or two can't re-position occasionally, mind you; just heavier than expected, for a non-weight exercise unit.
I don't care for the stiff-arm oblique knee raises on this machine, but that may be only a personal preference; someone else might find it convenient.
One pleasant surprise was a place for calf raises near the bottom of the unit. Very convenient, that.GENERALLY, OK
===============
In general, it seems fine, but if Amazon permits it, I'll write a second review in about 6 months, with regard to the wear and tear issue.

Offering everything you need for a great workout, the Weider Club 390 Power Tower helps you build muscle and get fit in the comfort of your own home. The Club 390 offers three primary workout stations. First up is a dip station with a foldaway assist pad that helps you perform dips until you're strong enough to do them on your own. Should you choose not to use the assist pad, simply fold it down and move it out of the way. The pull-up station, meanwhile, also uses the assist pad to help you perform pull-ups and chin-ups until you're ready to do them independently. Finally, the vertical knee raise (VKR) station helps you lose inches around your waist, develop ab muscles worthy of showing off, and tone your oblique and hip flexor muscles. The foldaway assist pad comes with 15- and 25-pound resistance bands that add up to 80 pounds of assistance to your routines. The stronger you get over time, the less resistance you'll need to use.

Giant Vertical Knee Raise Review

Giant Vertical Knee Raise
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have one thing to say, never, ever purchase from this company. We purchased the giant vertical knee raise machine in January 2010. The machine came in 4 weeks after the scheduled arrival date and came in with major cosmetic defects. The machines white paint must have been mixed with rust and was chipped all over. After many, many phone calls Yukon sent me out two replacement side parts and promised me touch up paint for the chips. I received the replacement side parts in about 4 weeks time and several additional phone calls. Yukon did not pick up the defective sides, so now I am stuck with an additional bill to take these to the dump! Think about it, I purchase a machine for full price, it is defective, I receive replacement parts and am stuck with disposing of the defective parts. In addition to all of this I have to call Yukon 8 more times for the touch up paint that I did finally receive.
At the end of this mess, I spoke with one of the co-owners of Yukon. He was one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to and has no sense of customer service. My recommendation for anyone is to never deal with this company, you will not be satisfied with your product or any service you may receive from them.

Stud Bar Pull Up Bar Review

Stud Bar Pull Up Bar

I've made many different pull up bars, trying to save money. Yet this product is worth every penny. It is easy to install and bomber solid. I'm an avid "CrossFitter" - the bar doesn't budge, even with my most violent kipping pull ups.
At first, the bar was a bit too smooth for my taste. A bit of fine grain sand paper gave it a more secure feel for me.
I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a rock solid pull up bar.

Amber Sporting Goods Space Saver VKR Workout Tower Review

Average Reviews:

First off: I received the shipment missing two pieces from the manufacturer. I emailed them requesting assistance. They immediately shipped the missing two pieces to me. I can't fault a company for an honest mistake, but I will commend them for so quickly and easily fixing it.
Secondly, the unit, itself.
A) Construction: I was able to put it together by myself in under 2 hours.
B) Exercises: The pullups are good. Good widegrip and normal pullup options. Very little movement when using. The dips wobble just a little, but the tower is certainly stable. Also, because the dips are on the same side as the pullup bar, there needs to be a slight bit of care to avoid the overhead pullup bar when raising on the dips. This does not hinder the exercise, just requires a little getting used to. Although I don't use them as much, the pushup bars and vertical knee raise bars work well.
C) Space: this is why I purchased this equipment. I had a limited space and this machine excels at that. Because the exercises are all on the same side, the machine fits smooothly up against a wall. I am more than willing to be a little more attentive when doing dips in order to have the equipment fit where I wanted it to.
D) Bottomline: I wanted a pullup and dips machine and I had a limited space to put it in and the Amber VKR Tower - Space Saver definitely met my needs, along with adding two additional exercise options, and all for a very reasonable price ($130 + $55 S&H). I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Stamina 1700 Power Tower Review

My biggest concern was if this can handle 6'3 265lbs of weight. It is sturdy. Only thing I didn't like was the pushup bars but they aren't bad but you can't go DEEP cause there is a bar that will touch your head before you get to that point. I mainly got this for pullups and leg raises anyway it's a nice addition to my home gym. Own mine now for a little over a year I didn't wanna do a review till I knew this was very solid and long lasting.

You're looking at a power tower, same as I was when I saw this one. I saw this one at my local sports store, got to try it out. They were charging $40 more for the thing plus a $40 assembly charge. The thing came UPS, saved $50 bucks with the super saver shipping and I was lucky enough to be home when the UPS guy had to lug the 80 lb. box to my door. The thing went together like clockwork. I had all the pieces and got them tight as a drum. To the guy that left the review referring the paracord, just tighten the bolt a little more, then the arms will hold wherever you put them. One problem for me on the whole deal, one of the arm pads wasn't assembled properly and it was missing the threads for the bolt that holds it to the apparatus. I called the company, they sent it out quick like a bunny, zero problems dealing with them. The pad they sent is a different color than the apparatus I bought, but my elbow won't notice. The company ships out anything if its missing, they didn't hassle me. I get a great workout on this thing. The dip arms are high, but I use a crate to get on them. I use a chair to work out to failure on pull-ups. It works like a charm.
