Body Solid FID46 Flat Incline Decline Bench Review

Body Solid FID46 Flat Incline Decline Bench
Average Reviews:

Pro's:
- really solid bench, is quite heavy and sturdy
- wheels allow relatively easy mobility
- 8 adjustable positions from decline, to flat, to almost upright
- leg extension with handles that can allow you to lay on your stomach to work your hamstrings
- good for sit-ups, especially from the decline position
- padding is quite thick and solid, yet comfortable
- the back pad is almost 3 ft. so ample space
- all the screws, nuts, bolts, washers are clearly labeled and separated to make for an organized assembly
Cons:
- the pads were a hassle to fit, the screws weren't drilled in the exact place so some adjustments were necessary
- this thing is massive, definitely not a space saver
- sits up pretty high off the ground (I'm 5'10 and in the lower positions my feet barely touch the ground, I end up resting them on the U-bar)
- in the flat position, there's a 3-inch gap between the seat and back pads, it takes some wiggling to find a comfortable position which is not so easy when you're holding heavier weight over your chest
- bench can not go into a perfect 90-degree angle, it's more like 100 at "upright"
I was looking for one bench to do decline, flat, and upright. It's not completely upright, which isn't such a big deal but having it not be so comfortable flat is a disappointment. Having the leg extension though makes up for the shortcoming as it makes the bench more versatile. Having the back pad so long though makes it difficult to do tricep extensions sitting upright. However doing them while sitting on a ball is better for you anyway. Paid $200 with free shipping off Amazon.

Perfect for all types of barbell and dumbbell exercises, the Body Solid FID46 bench works great in power racks, Smith machines, and a host of other workout systems. The bench is outfitted with a heavy-gauge, 3-inch, round-stock-steel mainframe that's tough and durable, along with nine-position, 2.75-inch seat and back pads that will never bottom out. As a result, you can adjust the bench to several different foolproof positions, including flat, incline, and decline. The removable leg developer, meanwhile, makes it a breeze to work out your quads or hamstrings while sitting on the bench, with a pair of cushioned hand grips adding stability. And thanks to the bottom wheels, you can easily move the bench from the living room to the garage. Other details include upholstered 4-by-8-inch rollers and oversized brash bushings for friction-free movement and a weight capacity of more than 1,000 pounds. The bench, which measures 28 by 31 by 75 inches (W x H x D), carries a lifetime warranty.

The owner Travis is a snake! I bought a bench for my son that fell over on him and almost broke his neck! I called and spoke to Travis who promised to allow us to exchange it for another if we were willing to pay MORE! I agreed and called him the next day to tell him which bench my son picked, but Travis would not come to the phone. I left him message after message for 2 weeks and he ignored them all and never called us back. I referred the matter to Amazon who told me that they needed to investigate. Once Amazon called him, Travis finally returned my call and told me that he would help me ONLY IF I WITHDREW MY COMPLAINT?!! Of course I refused since he had been ignoring me for weeks! The matter went before Amazon's Escallation Department that ended siding with Travis and Fitness Edge Exercise Equipment!
We ended up getting stuck for $250 because 'Travis' the owner of Fitness Edge Exercise equipment decided that it would be cheaper to go back on his word! He promised that we could exchange the bench one day and went back on his promise the next! Once this guy gets your money...he doesn't care about anything else! My son almost broke his neck and this creep couldn't care less. Once he found out that we didn't intend to take legal action...he then decided that there was no reason to do anything further! He even lied to Amazon's Escallation Department, telling them that he never promised to replace the defective bench! After it was all over, we ended up getting stuck for $250! Do yourself a big favor and save yourself alot of trouble and grief by buying direct from Amazon.com or another reputable company.

I bought this treadmill on-line. The instructions were easy to follow for assembly. The workouts are great with the incline of up to 40% grade and decline to a a -6%. The IPOD attachment works great and, I was impressed with the speaker system sound quality. I do not have the IFIT attachment yet, but am going to purchase it to use the google map feature to create my own running workouts. Overall seems to be a durable commercial grade treadmill that I am am hoping will last for many years to come.

LifeSpan Fitness TR200 Fold-N-Stor Compact Treadmill (2011 Model) Review

LifeSpan Fitness TR200 Fold-N-Stor Compact Treadmill (2011 Model)

I live in a downtown condo and wanted something compact to fit into my spare bedroom / office. I was looking at this unit which I bought and an Evolve treadmill. Both treadmill dimensions allow for under the bed storage or in my case under my futon which is what I was looking for. I also was looking for something that I could do some fairly consistent walking 3- 4 days at 20-30 minutes...I am not a jogger or runner (BTW I would not see this unit being ideal for real heavy running use). I was looking for a treadmill that I could use my iPod with which both units do. It came down to (2) factors for me why I picked the TR 200. The first is that my unit has incline which the other unit does not...I use the incline a lot to burn more calories and mix up my walks. What is really nice is since I change the incline often I use the buttons on the console that I can go to a specific incline. The second and not as important was that the motor size is a little bit bigger than the other compact units I looked at. The treadmill is 100% assembled in the box...I cut the back end of the box and rolled the treadmill out so I did not have to lift the treadmill out of the box. I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this treadmill for those limited on space or for walkers.

Body-Solid GAB60 Adjustable Ab Board Review

Body-Solid GAB60 Adjustable Ab Board
Average Reviews:

This ab board is easy to assemble, comfortable to use (even in the highest position), and very solid and stable. I would definitely recommend this ab board, especially for the price range it's in. It is very adjustable, with positions high enough to give even someone with well-conditioned abs a burn, to barely above flat on the floor. I will definitely be able to maintain my "six-pack" with a quick, daily routine on this.

A tight, strong midsection is at the core of everything you do, which is why core training should be considered a vital part of any workout regimen. Enter the Powerline GAB60 adjustable ab board, which helps tighten up your midsection, strengthen your back, and improve your core stability. Comfortable and effective, the board offers a sturdy 2-by-2-inch steel mainframe covered with thick, double-stitched DuraFirm padding. The oversized 8-inch foam rollers, meanwhile, fit cozily beneath your knees and ankles, letting you perform tons of sit-ups and crunches in a single stretch. Best of all, the board is adjustable to 12 different positions, making it easy to design a diverse and challenging workout routine.
The GAB60 is an essential workout accessory because your core is where all your body movements originate. Your abdominal muscles support and protect your internal organs and aid in breathing, especially when you exhale. The abs also team up with your back muscles to control trunk motions, such as twisting and bending. And from an aesthetic perspective, the board lets you efficiently chisel a flatter stomach and slimmer waistline. If you want to look and feel your best, start at your core. Ideal for home and commercial use, the GAB60 carries a 10-year warranty on the frame and a one-year warranty on all other parts.
