I purchased this Hyper/roman chair made by Powertec because I own Powertec's leverage workbench and it is an OUTSTANDING, SOLID piece of equipment so, I thought that I couldn't go wrong with their Roman Chair- I was correct to think so. The P-HR 45 by Powertec feels extremely SOLID while in use. The previous review complained about the pads being set to far apart- I did not find that to be so. I actually think that Powertec did this so that men could do Hyperextensions on this equipment in comfort and not have to worry about the family jewels being ruined. (Thanks Powertec!) Most Hyper/Roman chairs that I have seen are a bit huge. This chair surprisingly takes up very little space. It is very important that you FOLLOW DIRECTIONS when putting this together. It states that you should NOT tighten the bolts when putting this together until all the bolts are in place. I put all bolts into place and then tightened them starting from the bottom of the chair and worked my way up. TRUST me when I tell you that you should take heed to this as it really does make a difference as to how solid this machine will feel to you when you are using it. To me, there is nothing more important than to have your abs and lower back in there absolute best shape. Do yourself a favor and add this EXCELLENT piece of equipment to your home gym.

Strengthen your lower back, glutes, and abs in a comfortable and precise position with this dual hyperextension/Roman chair. The only hyperextension chair of its kind that provides several variations, the P-HC lets you lock in at a 45-degree angle for slanted hyperextensions, or use the adjustable foot roller system and adjustable seat to perform traditional hyperextensions. Even better, the multiple adjustments--which include a variable footplate--accommodates all body types and sizes. The P-HC, which also lets you perform Roman chair sit-ups, measures 24 by 30 by 50 inches (W x H x D) and carries the following warranties: lifetime on the frame, two years on component parts (such as bearings and spring pins), and one year on pads, grips, and unspecified parts.

Roman Chair - Hyper Extension Review

I bought this with low expectations, mostly because I've seen other models at this price point that were pretty flimsy. Not so with this one. Very sturdy with everything tightened down, yet still relatively light and easy to pick up and move if you need. Assembly was very straight-forward and only took about 20 minutes. The two reasons I give it four rather than five stars are that it isn't as comfortable as it could be and that while it is adjustable, you have to tighten the pin down a lot to hold it steady which won't make multiple users happy. Overall very happy with it though.

Valor CB-13 Back Extension 2CB0131BM Review

This is a great product because it is well built. The only problem is it's sized for taller people - 5'9+ or so. It's too tall for me, but I think I can cut the sliding post down three inches or so. The two pads that touch your thighs would be more comfortable if they were rounded at the top, so I just put a folded towel over the top edge. Other than that, it's well designed and should last for years.

The CB-13 Valor Fitness Back Extension allows the user to focus on stretching muscles while exercising muscles. Great exercise to build-up lower back muscles. Performing a reverse sit up strengthens the lower back muscles which usually are forgotten and then back pain sets in when they are used to much in such a short time.

Stamina Ab / Hyper Bench Review

Stamina Ab / Hyper Bench

Delivery: the item arrived promptly and was well packaged; there was no damage.
Assembly: uncomplicated and took under 30 minutes; instructions were straightforward; the bench can be easily folded and stored away.
Country of origin: China.
Construction: the steel frame is fairly light, but sturdy; no rickety parts; every single joint is thoroughly welded; the bench does not rock or tip during exercise; paint job is A+; padding is a little on a flimsy side and I do not expect it to last as long as my previous bench; the manufacturer specifies 250 lbs as a user weight limit.
Dimensions: the seat is only 28.5 inches long, so decide for yourself whether this is adequate for you; I would estimate that anyone over 6 ft tall will have difficulty using this product for sit-ups.
The vertical component of the bench (tilted 40 degrees and used for back hyperextension exercises) has adjustable height and will accommodate just about any sized human (but do not forget the 250 lbs weight limit); it does excellent job isolating the lower back muscles.
Overall appearance: it looks like a quality product overall, from stitching to glossy finish; the design is certainly compact and clever for what this bench does.
Price: $100 for a bench like this, including delivery, is a good value.
Rating: 4 stars; there are nicer products out there, but they are all bulkier and more expensive.

High-density foam pads provide comfort for back, buttocks, and elbows. Non-slip caps on the frame's ends ensure the bench will not move during exercises.
