Reebok 1000 X Elliptical Review

Reebok 1000 X Elliptical

I have had this elliptical for about a year. It is one of the best non commercial grade ellipticals i have been on. I like it far more than half of the machines at lifetime fitness. It has a good incline option. I would say that the heavier resistance is a bit much. only needs 15 at the max. the 20 is like riding brakes. I love the options to plug in my ipod and other mp3 players!
great buy for the price...btw...you can get them for about 900 tops!

Total Gym Xl Review

Total Gym Xl

I have been using the Total Gym XL for around 5 weeks. If you are a serious bodybuilder, this is probably not the home gym for you. But if you are looking to tone up and strenghten your whole body, or, if you are like me, over 55 and trying not to lose any more muscle mass :) this is GREAT piece of equipment! After just a couple days of getting used to the gym, it takes just seconds to change the resistance level, add or remove the wing attachment, or add or remove the cable pulley for the various exercises. The included DVDs, flip chart, and wall chart make it easy to tailor your workout to your personal goals. It is a well made piece of equipment and glides very smoothly. Improvements come quickly at first - I have already moved up a level of resistance in several exercises. Highly recommended.

ONE piece of equipment does it all, helping you lose weight, tone or build muscle, increase strength, get a cardio workout - and feel great. The Total Gym uses your own weight as resistance. You set the resistance level - higher to build muscle, lower to tone and slenderize. Total Gym's unique design allows you to easily move from one exercise to another - no weights to remove or add. You can even use it for Pilates and great cardio routines. No assembly required. It sets up in minutes and is a fun and easy way to reach your personal fitness goals!

Health (Sports) Rider Review

Health (Sports) Rider
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Healthrider uses your own weight, with a smooth forward and back motion similar to rowing, but with more flexibility about hand and foot placement. Unlike rowing, there is resistance throughout the stroke. I purchased my original Healthrider in 1995 too. I've used it extensively over the years and can vouch that it's well built - tough as nails - and very effective. Like the ROM (Range of Motion) machine it simultaneously works most of your body, and can provide a stretch at the same time you work. The handle bars allow a biceps curl, a shoulder shrug, and a chest pull. You can also work the legs exclusively by moving the handle and the arms exclusively by using alternate foot pedals, but it's best just using all your body at once.
The main strengths are: 1) rapid warm up. You get cardio, stretch, resistance training in just a few minutes. 2) Full body involvment - arms, chest, and leg involvment all at the same time. You'll activate most major muscle groups. 3) Good benefit in short time duration. 5 minutes gets a workout you'll feel and will give you some real benefit.
The main drawbacks are: 1) not good for real cardio workout. The resistance training aspect means it's tough to do for more than 10 minutes. Your heart will benefit from a longer cardio workout. 2) Resistance is light weight with many reps - good for cutting - but not good for building muscle mass or power. 3) tough to get an intensive workout.
The Healthrider has emerged, over my years of experience with it, as a great niche player. It's a fantastic warmup before weights - perhaps the best machine out there for this purpose. It's also a great machine to get close to a total body workout when you only have a few minutes for a workout. 5 minutes before the morning shower will definitely be worth your time. It's not a replacement for real cardio or real weight training however. Those who try to use it as such may be disappointed.

Light Commercial FreeMotion EXT Dual Cable Crossover Machine Review

Light Commercial FreeMotion EXT Dual Cable Crossover Machine
Average Reviews:

Since this was labeled "light" I was a little worried it wouldn't compare to gym quality equipment. This was a christmas gift for my father last year and just hearing about the delivery and install I was more then impressed. It is just as well built as the machines we use the gym and will last him a lifetime. Some fitness equipment will only last a few years with everyday use, but he and my mother have been using it everyday for almost a year, and they love it! Lots of options for different exercises (maybe get an exercise ball to use as well with some of the movements). Basically he loves it so much, that he jokes that he should make an execrise DVD to go with is...with him as the spokesperson!

The FreeMotion EXT Dual Cable Crossover unit is an extraordinarily versatile and durable strength and cable system. This strength training apparatus includes several premium design features that allow you to safely and effectively target every part of your body. The less-restrictive swivel pulley design ensures fluid cable travel and provides practically unlimited range of motion. Each independently rotating arm rotates vertically in 12in settings and horizontally in 9in settings to accommodate virtually any pattern of movement. This FreeMotion system permits a diverse range of activity for a more custom and comprehensive workout. Perform a variety of standing strength exercises to condition different sets of muscles. Some exercises allow you to target muscles used in specific sports such as golf or tennis. For lower body exercises, the included ankle cuff is Velcro padded for more comfortable and secure placement. And, the weight stacks are cleverly enclosed to limit access to moving parts. Each weight stack is independent, so two people can workout at the same time. The professional-quality Light Commerical EXT Dual Cable Crossover Machine from FreeMotion is designed after the Commercial FreeMotion Dual Cable Cross. This light commercial and high-end residential unit features strong 7 and 11 gauge steel tubing for outstanding precision and durability. Ok - people thought I was crazy when I told them I was buying this. The online video leaves something to be desired. However - after using this for two weeks - it is making a huge difference! My butt is definitely tighter, my thighs are strenghening - though instead of getting 'skinnier' they are getting bigger from muscle. I didn't really think a machine could do this but it does! My stomach is definitely getting tighter as well.
When I first used the machine, I could hardly keep my feet off the ground because my legs were so tired. When I put the machine on the third level I would almost fly off. Now - I can do the 4th level with no problem! I even am working on putting my legs way out in front of me and balancing... This is amazing!!!!
It's not like I'm seeing any weight loss but this isn't what I got it for. I wanted to strengthen my core and it definitely is doing it!
I tried the gallop put out by Brookstone but I felt that that trainer leaned you too far forward and was a bit uncomfortable even though it looked more like a saddle.
I'm going horseback riding next week (not why I got this) but I remember when I did it last year....felt like I was walking bow legged the next day. We'll see if I feel that way this time...it will be interesting to note.

Sole E55 Elliptical Trainer (2009-2010 Model, DISCONTINUED) Review

Sole E55 Elliptical Trainer (2009-2010 Model, DISCONTINUED)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've written a review on the e95 as well - I'll say go read that rather than have me write a complete novel here. :-)
After deciding the e95 had some features I didn't like and that the e35 would suit my needs but I'd like just a little beefier machine and a computer with a numeric keypad - I ordered this one directly from Sole. The box came... it was HUGE. The delivery guy helped slide it down our cellar steps so getting it in the house wasn't too hard but you might want to spring the extra cash for in-home delivery if your situation is more complicated. (The box is about the size of a small-ish fridge... I've turned it in to the best box house ever for my son. If you have kids, they'll love this)
Once it was in - assembly took maybe 2 hours but we weren't exactly trying to break any records. Assembly is very straight forward and the nuts and bolts are packaged in a tray with little compartments so you have just what you need for steps 1, 2, 3, and 4.
One complaint about assembly - this beast is HEAVY. Which is a good thing, for when you're working out on it - but I look at this thing and I think, my god, it's never coming back out of this house. We bought this house 3 months ago and I am not sure it's our "forever" house. So I wonder if an elliptical adds to the value of a house. Not that we're going anywhere any time soon with the market having just dropped but... I do wonder, will it ever come back out.
Working out on this machine is AWESOME. It compares *very* favorably to the LifeFitness machines I used at the gym before I got pregnant with my twins. They're now 8 months and I had to stop using the elliptical pretty early in my pregnancy so I'm really not in the best shape now - and this machine kicks my butt. Which is good! But it's kind of humiliating. I am using resistance level 3 for now and hope to get better soon.
So far I only use the manual setting on the computer and my one complaint is you can't add time on the fly like you could with the LifeFitness machines. You have to wait until the program is over and then you can hit "start" to do it again - but it does keep going from your current distance and calories burned, at least, so it's LIKE just adding time - it would just be nice to be able to add time. (For all I know though maybe you can - and I just haven't figured it out. Such a small annoyance, though!) (Update - I've figured out if you want, you can just hit "start" twice when you get on and it will count up, rather than down, so you can just keep going as long as you like)
All in all I am very pleased with this machine. I can't help but wonder if the e35 wouldn't have worked out just as well but I wanted a little beefier flywheel and I have it.
The only mechanical issue we've had with the machine is you need to keep the tracks greased or it makes a noise like styrofoam coming out of a cardboard box. EEEK! Machine comes with a tube of grease (actually a white tube with "LUBE" written on it in large black letters, the most generic thing you can imagine... we thought it was hilarious...)
Great machine, very pleased.

Enjoy an efficient full-body workout without heading to the gym with the Sole E55 elliptical trainer. Boasting a heavy 30-pound flywheel, a high gear ratio not found on most comparable models, and a pair of upper body handles, the E55 delivers an extremely smooth workout with plenty of top-end resistance. Users will also appreciate the unique oversize and adjustable foot pedals, which were designed in collaboration with a leading physical therapist and sports enthusiast. The pedals are not only extra large, but also feature a 2-degree inward slope that reduces the ankle and knee stress that's common in other elliptical machines. The collaboration also produced a revolutionary foot pedal angle adjustment not found on any other elliptical. Taking into account that not everyone walks the same way, Sole engineers made the E55's pedals adjustable to fit the way you walk. This also reduces the likelihood of numb toes and sore Achilles tendons.
Workout specifics include 16 resistance levels, 10 total programs (including two custom and two heart-rate programs), and a 20-inch stride length. Perhaps the handiest feature from a user perspective, however, is the easy-to-use electronic console, which integrates a blue backlit LCD display, a cooling fan, and a water bottle holder. The E55, which offers a maximum weight capacity of 350 pounds, carries the following warranties: lifetime on the frame, five years on all parts and electronics, and two years on the labor.

About Elliptical Trainers Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.
Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.
Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

It's a really good machine. It's pretty basic but does the job. My hubby & I like to switch between the elliptical and stepper so it's perfect for us. Would recommend again.

Combining an elliptical strider and a stepper, this machine provides upper- and lower-body exercise in addition to a low-impact cardiovascular workout. Meanwhile, a battery-operated monitor displays RPM, speed, time, distance, calories burned, and heart rate. (Heart-rate sensors are built into a stationary hand grip.) The machine employs a heavy-weighted flywheel-resistance and belt-drive train so it operates silently and smoothly. Eight levels of resistance are available and can be varied by turning a knob without interrupting a workout.
The elliptical mode blends stair climbing, cycling, skiing, and walking in a single movement. In forward motion, quadriceps, buttocks, lower abdomen, hips, and thighs are targeted. In reverse motion, hamstrings, lower buttocks, hips, thighs, and calves are targeted. The stepper mode works the same muscle groups with a vertical motion. Switching between modes is quick and easy. In either mode, dual-action handlebars--foam-padded for comfort--add an upper-body workout to tone and firm arms, chest, shoulders, and back. (The stationary hand grip offers an alternative to the handlebars.) The cross-trainer's frame is steel and aluminum. Floor protectors safeguard a workout area and prevent skidding. Assembled (instructions included), the machine measures 53-1/2 inches long x 28 inches wide x 60.38 inches high and weighs 117 pounds.

FreeForm Hideaway Home Gym Review

Review: I have had to exercise most of my 59-year-old life because of scoliosis in my spine. I have been able to maintain flexibility in back in this way. I look constantly for the "ultimate home gym". Of course, it isn't out there yet. I have had two Bowflex, numerous free weight and body weight gyms. I have used elastic cord machines and rubber band machines as well. I usually never give a review, but the FreeForm Hideaway Gym is one of the best, most efficient pieces of equipment I have ever owned. The FreeForm squat exercise is unique and probably the safest I've seen. I can move through eleven exercises within minutes and experience probably the best, real "cardio-strength" workout I have ever had on a home gym. I love the FreeForm Hideaway Gym. Is it the "ultimate home gym"? All I know is that I will never need to buy another home gym.
There is one caveat. "Never dismount the FreeForm when you have tension on the bands." The machine will slide. That should be a warning that comes with the gym.

The key to keeping off excess weight is to build lean, fat-burning muscle. Enter the FreeForm Hideaway Gym, a compact yet fully featured device that perfects the core bodybuilding movements necessary to build a strong, lean body. The Hideaway Gym supports three main body positions. When facing forward, you can perform such exercises as tricep extensions, chest dumbbell flies, chest presses, and abdominal curls, helping you work a variety of upper body muscles. When facing in, the machine lets you perform bicep curls, upright rows, upper lat rows, lower back rows, and more. Finally, you can perform exercises in the standing position, with exercise options that include leg press, glute and inner thigh presses, and calf flexions. All told, the Hideaway Gym offers all the exercises you'll find on more expensive TV-promoted home gyms but at a far more affordable price.
The Hideaway Gym also makes it easy to change your resistance level thanks to the patented quick-change resistance bands. Just select the bands you wish to engage for the exercise--no complicated cable changes or stubborn weight stacks. And with a resistance range that varies from as low as 10 pounds to a maximum of 200 pounds, almost anyone can use the machine to build strength and burn fat. Best of all, the machine breaks down in less than a minute and folds almost flat (5 inches off the ground), so you can easily slide it under a bed or store it in a closet. It's the perfect home gym for space-conscious users who don't want to sacrifice functionality. Also ideal for rehab, the Hideaway Gym comes with a professionally produced workout chart and carries a five-year limited warranty.

Body Solid Dual Weight Stack Cable Crossover Machine Functional Training Center GDCC200 Review

Body Solid Dual Weight Stack Cable Crossover Machine Functional Training Center GDCC200
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this piece of equipment nearly 4 years ago with the option of a larger weight stack. Let me just say: The flexibility of this piece of equipment is wonderful. It's sturdy (no shake) and has taken some real abuse. The center pull-up bar is solid. The cable columns are smooth. The side adjustability accommodates most exercises... that being said I have found at times that I wish the unit was taller (providing a higher top angle and also allowing the user to stand further away from the machine). I find, sometimes, that I need to step too far away from the machine to achieve a certain angle and that causes the weight stack to hit the top of the cable column during the exercise.... the remedy is to alter the angle/get closer to the machine. Not a huge deal though, considering the equipment is in my house!!! A note about the weight stack: it lifts lighter than one might think. There are add-on weights, however you can forget pulling down large amounts of weight (even if the weight stack numbers correspond to what you might be used-to at the gym. However, I have found a way around this problem by connecting a high-weight rated chain between the two cable columns. This provides an excellent lift assist for pull-ups (if needed) and allows me to tap into the weight of both stacks... of course only do something like this at your own risk - I'm sure the manufacturer wouldn't recommend it. Also, I use a chained weight belt (to hold plates) for heavier pull-ups.
At any rate, and the risk of rambling, if you are looking for a versatile cable column... definitely give this one consideration. I've found it to be a great piece of equipment and a center piece of my home gym.

Total Gym® 14000 Review

Total Gym® 14000

The total gym is a terrific supplement to weight and cardio training.
It is espesially good if you play sports such as baseball, tennis, racquetball, etc.
This machine really strenghtens and stretches all muscles around the shoulders.
The TG1400 is better made and cheaper than the infomercial total gym although it is still
pretty pricey. In fact this is the model Chuck Norris endorses on his web site.
The price is why I do not give 5 stars. Use it for 10-20 minutes at the start of your day
then go run a mile or two afterward and you will feel the benefits.
It does take up a lot of space and is a pain to put it away.
I leave it set up at all times.

Bowflex Conquest Home Gym Review

Bowflex Conquest Home Gym
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Over the last 2 years, I have been member of 4 different gyms. I traveled a lot overseas during that time, so I juggled the memberships quite a bit and ended up paying way more than I wanted. My usual trips to the gym took 2-4 hours including travel time, I'm a pretty motivated person, but after a while, it is just becomes too difficult to get myself in the gym because of the time and money involved.
After coming back from a recent 1 year trip overseas, I've decided to look into home gyms to save both money and time. After extensive research, I ended up purchase the Conquest here on Amazon. Some other machines I looked at were the Platinum Crossbow, Total Gym, Bandflex. After comparing all the machines and going to the local sporting store to try out the Bowflex, I had no doubt that Bowflex is well worth the money.
Other machines might be cheaper, smaller and easier to assemble. But I found that the Bowflex quality is difficult to match.
Setup:
I put together the machine in about 2 hours. All you need is a couple of screw drivers, the everything else needed is in the package. The instructions were easy to follow and makes logical sense. However, my Bowflex, like many others, arrived missing a few parts. In my case it was just a few washers and a couple of screws, nothing critical, but such problems seemed common from what I've read.
Operation:
If you have not used a Bowflex yet, you are in for a treat. The Power Rods provide very smooth resistance and wonderful range of motion. The resistance builds as you flex the power rods, very easy on the joints at the beginning of the motion, yet still provides enough to break down your muscles toward the end of the motion. The DVD provides instruction for basic exercises (about 15), and the manual covers over 60 different exercises. A lot of them are simply variations of another exercise, but I found myself creating new ways to exercise that is not covered in the included material. The weight and type of exercises were easy to change, and will not interfere with your workout. I found this to be a very good time saver vs waiting for machines at the gym.
Size:
No matter how many times you have seen the Bowflex on TV, you won't realize how big the machine truly is until you have put it together. The conquest is easily 7ft tall, and takes a huge amount of space in my living room. It has wheels, but you will not be able to fit it through most doors, so think long and hard before you decide which room you will place it.
Value:
I ordered here on Amazon because of the awesome discounted price they had, evident by the fact the machine sold out 2 days after I placed my order. But after using the machine for a week, I can honestly say I would gladly pay full price for the machine. Like any other piece of exercise equipment, if you make good use of it, and it is worth every penny. I noticed that this machine is nearly identical to the more expensive Sport model, but is hundreds cheaper.
Summary:
This is the best item I have purchased in 2006, over the years I always ignored the Bowflex TV ads and considered it a fad. But the Conquest proved its worth a dozen times over the last week; for once a machine that works better than advertised.
Pros: solid construction, long warranty, exercise variety, smooth motion, easy operation, great long term value.
Cons: Setup time, size, missing parts
Neutral: Decent resale value.

About Home Gyms While offering the convenience of working out in the comfort and privacy of your own home, home gyms also allow you to focus on specific routines without having to wait in line or switch between a complex array of machines. In addition to improving strength, power, coordination, and muscular endurance, weight training can enhance weight reduction, enhance the immune and cardiovascular systems, and help prevent injuries. In general, home gym machines are compact units designed to strengthen and exercise many parts of the body. While no single home gym can provide a complete strength training solution, they are a convenient way to combine many exercises into a single unit. Some home gyms focus exclusively on upper-body workouts, while other, more advanced units focus on upper- and lower-body conditioning.

Stamina AeroPilates Reformer with Free-Form Cardio Rebounder Review

Stamina AeroPilates Reformer with Free-Form Cardio Rebounder

This is a good sturdy quality piece of equipment. I was afraid it might not be stable and function like some of the larger or more expensive reformers. This definitely holds it's own and I'm glad I got this one because I can keep it by the wall and then easily slide it over for the workout. All of the parts work smoothly. As far as the trampoline in the lying down position, I need to start slowly or I get a little nauseous. Most importantly, I have a herniated disc in my center back and the Pilates exercises are helping me enormously. I highly recommend it.

The Stamina AeroPilates with Free-Form Cardio Rebounder allows you to reach and maintain your target heart rate as effectively as with a treadmill. But unlike the treadmill, this rebounder is low impact and gentle on your joints. Because you are lying on your back, there is no concussion on your legs, hips, or spine. Some Pilates' machines feature a padded jumpboard made of solid wood, but the AeroPilates Free-Form Rebounder is like jumping on a trampoline. As a result, there is more give and less shock to your joints. Plus, the AeroPilates strength and flexibility training gives you the strong, streamlined, flexible body that only Pilates can achieve.
This device is elevated about 10 inches of the floor to allow for more advanced exercises and enables you to perform over 50 exercises to tone and shape your entire body. The heavy, steel frame is durable and the four heavy-duty elastic cords provide four levels of workout resistance. The adjustable headrest, along with oversized high-density foam shoulder pads, offer additional support and comfort. This system includes two workout videos, and a color workout wall chart.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this reformer. I am new to pilates and am turning to it after almost two years of lower back pain caused by the after-effects of pregnancy (ie. majorly stretched out muscles). I read other reviews saying that it was big, and it really is. I wasn't fully prepared for how big it is. But I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of this reformer. Assembly wasn't too difficult and I did it by myself. My only suggestion is to pay attention to the number of bolts that are required for each step of the assembly process as illustrated, otherwise it is pretty easy to miss some of the pre-drilled holes and end up with extra bolts. I've only been using my reformer for a week, but I can tell you that it is a fantastic whole body workout. I'm already feeling much stronger in my core and having less back pain. I'm not the kind of person who has ever enjoyed getting on any type of exercise machine. I was a competitive swimmer up until about 8 years ago and I've never really enjoyed any other form of exercise as much as swimming until I found this. I look forward to this workout every day. This reformer was definitely worth the money.

The Stamina AeroPilates Pro XP 556 takes the traditional Pilates workout to the next level for a fun, safe, and comfortable Pilates workout with the addition of cardio training. With the AeroPilates Pro you will achieve the long, lean Pilates body as you improve your cardiovascular fitness with the Free-Form Rebounder. You'll lose weight and tone the hips, thighs, and abdominals! Using the AeroPilates Pro is the safest, most effective way to perform Pilates exercises without a licensed instructor, and with the included videos, anyone can learn to use the machine.
Heavy-steel frame and oak-finished wood construction give the AeroPilates Pro the quality and look of upscale commercial reformers, but it is more affordable and sized to fit your home. Adjustable ropes, straps, and handgrips are designed to fit any user. Footrest adjusts to three positions, and the rails are five inches longer than standard reformers, to accommodate taller users. Commercial grade wheels provide the smoothest carriage glide available.
The Cardio Rebounder fits in holes at the base of the machine and functions like a trampoline. The Rebounder allows you to "jump" while lying down on the reformer, so that users of any fitness level can use the Rebounder safely and effectively. The cardio workout is gentle to your joints and connective tissue, and yet allows you to reach and maintain your target heart rate as effectively as with a treadmill. You can turn your feet in or out to hit different muscle groups and reach hard to access thigh, hip, and waist muscles. The Rebounder can be taken on and off the reformer easily.
The reformer is elevated about 15 inches off of the floor to allow for more advanced exercises with a greater range of motion, and to make it easier to get on and off. Adjustable headrest and oversized high-density foam shoulder pads offer additional support and comfort. To use the machine, you lay down on the comfortable cushion that moves back and forth on quiet and ultra-smooth rollers and gliders. The resistance is changed with four heavy-duty elastic cords at the base of the machine, allowing you to build up resistance as you develop strength, and adjust resistance for different exercises and muscle groups.
Developed by Joseph Hubertus Pilates approximately 80 years ago, the Pilates exercise system develops flexibility, posture, and strength. With the purpose of building core strength, Pilates workouts challenge balance, core strength, stability, and flexibility. The AeroPilates Pro makes challenging Pilates exercises easier to perform properly, effectively, safely and provides optimum challenge and usability for seasoned Pilates trainers and novices alike.

Powerline PGM200X Glute Master Review

Powerline PGM200X Glute Master

Bought this and I am very pleased with it NOW - BUT I had to do a LOT of tinkering with the screws, bolts, etc. First off, the box was missing 4 bolts, now this could very well just be an isolated incident but still, had to go look for the right kind at the local home-improv store to be able to assemble it.
Additionally, the most annoying thing was that the nuts to put together the sliding mechanism are wrong too (which makes you wonder how quality-oriented the manufacturer of this thing is) - When you get it, go to your local home-improv and buy 8 of the same diameter nuts that do NOT have one end blocked so the bolts can be tightened all the way (I know it sounds confusing but when you get this thing and try to assemble the gliding mech youll get why) - this will enable you to tighten the gliding system properly making it glide as it SHOULD glide - otherwise you will have a VERY hard time making this work.
In addition, the instructions for assembly are HORRIBLE.
So basically loved the machine but I really dont think its fair to leave the consumer to figure out and indeed to actually FIX the product's shortcomings.
Amazon was contacted and they were very nice about it, telling me to send it back to exchange for another unit, BUT given the size of this machine it was just easier to keep it and find the missing bolts on my own as well as the right type of nuts. Hope this helps - hard to find a butt exerciser (I know, I looked) and this one is fairly good after you "FIX" it.

The PGM200X Glute Master targets the gluteal muscles, the muscles that form the buttocks. Gluteals are one of the main muscle groups responsible for holding your body upright, but they can be tough to isolate and strengthen using traditional gym exercises. The Powerline PGM200X is designed to target the glutes, hamstrings and quadriceps with controlled movement for total isolation. Now, in the comfort and privacy of your own home, you can target the muscles that form the buttocks and strengthen the muscle group that helps haul your butt through everyday life.

Precor S3.23 Functional Trainer and Bench Combo Review

Precor S3.23 Functional Trainer and Bench Combo

I bought this system to help recover after a serious accident left me with decreased strength and range of motion in my arms. It does that and much more.
One thing that sold me on the unit was its size. Be sure to check the room you want to put it in, because it is tall. Other than that, it's compact and stays out of the way. It's easy to move the weights so that more than one person can use them or for different focus.
This is a great system for me. I'm very happy with it.

Designed for home use, the Precor S3.23 Functional Trainer and Bench Combo is great for people of all sizes and fitness levels. A dual stack gym offering a true isolateral workout in a compact footprint, the S3.23 Functional Trainer helps you build total body strength through unlimited exercise options. You'll benefit from building a strong core, and developing improved balance, increased stability and coordination, for improved daily life activities.
Functional Training Many of the activities we do in life are performed across multiple planes of movement. Functional Training embraces that fact and allows strength training to be more applicable to the everyday movements of the human body as well as sports specific training. In addition to building strength, significant improvements in balance and coordination are principle benefits of the unrestricted motion of functional training.
Because the body's core muscles are the foundation for all movement, core stability training is essential to daily living and injury prevention. Functional Training engages more than one muscle, and often more than one joint, teaching them all to work together and work equally. Stabilizers and core muscles are recruited to build true overall strength.
Features:
Compact footprint fits into your home. With its space efficient design and subtle color palette the S3.23 complements your home decor and suits your lifestyle.
Wide range-of-motion for a flexible workout. High-mass/low-travel weight stack increases the cable range-of-motion, allowing you greater flexibility in your workout.
User-friendly adjustments vary your workout. The unique pulley system with one-handed ergonomic handle easily adjusts to over thirty starting positions, allowing unlimited exercises to keep routines fresh.
Dual independent weight stacks engage your muscles. Rather than working on just one or two planes of your body, the dual independent weight stacks allow you to engage more than one muscle and often more than one joint for isolateral resistance training.
Adjustable bench. The bench has six adjustment positions to focus your workouts and easily wheels in and out of the functional trainer.
Fully concealed weight stacks to conceal moving parts.
Integrated top bar allows for back, abdominal workouts and chin-ups.
Adjustable accessory straps: Accessories included are (1) foot/ankle strap, (2) D-ring handgrips, which accommodate all user sizes and a variety of exercises.
Instructional DVD provides you a personal training program for a total body workout and sports specific exercises.
Stack weight: The S3.23 stack has a 1:2 ratio resistance factor, meaning you feel a functional resistance weight of half of the selected weight. The actual single stack weight is 150 pounds (68 kg), which is 75 pounds (34 kg) functional resistance. The actual combined stack weight (2 stacks total) is 300 pounds (136 kg) total, which is 150 pounds (68 kg) functional resistance.
Top plate: Cast aluminum top plate has starting weight of 10 lbs (4.5 kg) with a functional weight of 5 lbs (2 kg).
Construction: Nylon/fiberglass pulleys for added durability; ABEC rated ball bearings for added durability and smooth feel.

Captiva - Elliptical Trainer Machine (cardio core training series) Review

Captiva - Elliptical Trainer Machine (cardio core training series)
Average Reviews:

I've had it for 3 months. Works well, very quiet, very smooth. I am glad I bought the Captiva ( not the Sanibel). worth the extra $500 because of the stride adjuster and incline adjustment feature. having that is a must with this machine. the LCD is only adequate, not very fancy. That is my only complaint but it's not enough to drop down from 5 stars. I paid $1999 for it. That was a big factor. My first choices were ellipicals that cost roughly $3800 which were out of my price range (Landice).

I have this and I had read in another review that it came banged up and missing the weight stacks. That sound like the shipping company mess up which happens from time to time. My experience is that BodyCraft is there to assist there customers no matter what the problem is. I know when a a large heavy item is shipped by freight it might get a little banged up, but the items I got were pack and protect in the the boxes.
This Jones machine works great and offers a great way to workout safely. It allow some one to work out by themselves and feel secure.
